The report is printed and can be ordered from Cambridge University Press CUP. It is also officially available from the IPCC site in form of pdfs or from my ordinary publications web site. I have collated the entire report into one nice pdf (for easier searching). Ask me if you wish to get it. ;-)

The following is AFAIK still available from our BSCW site (access restricted to authors):

Use these files for writing and adding references. Please, before you start writing, don't forget to increment the version, e.g. set it to version 0.20 (coded as "0_20" - since Windows does unfortunately not support the use of a period in file names), by renaming the file. Ex.: Assumed you are Rik Leemans (rl) rename your part (Prl - means "Part Rik Leemans") to
         Ch4-Prl-v0_20.doc                      the Word document
and
         Ch4-Prl-Refs_v0_20.enl             the accompanying EndNote library
respectively.

Download hints: Should your browser have difficulties to download these files, e.g. should it attempt to display the file (you see only garbage) instead of downloading them, then use the right button on your mouse (Windows), or control-click the link (Mac). The result will be a pop-up menu, from which you can choose the command how to handle the link. To actually download choose the command similar to this "Save file as..." or "Download link to disk..." or "Save linked file as..." etc. Using such a command should allow you to store the wanted file in the directory where you write towards our chapter.

Writing Hints

Presentation by Andreas Fischlin (1.2 MB) as given at the Cairns LA meeting, 17th March, 2005, Cairns, Australia (zip-compressed variant, 592 KB)

How to Cite Literature Using EndNote:

Rule CorrectWrongResult after formatting
(1) Use braces instead of parantheses Ex.: {Bonan, 1997} (Bonan, 1997) (Bonan, 1997)
(2) Cite only first author Ex.: {Midgley, 2004} {Midgley et al., 2004} (Midgley et al., 2004)
(3) Separate citations with semicolon Ex.: {Yiou, 2004;Mastrandrea, 2004} {Yiou, 2004, Mastrandrea, 2004} (Yiou & Nogaj, 2004; Mastrandrea & Schneider, 2004)
(4) Add a unique keyword, e.g. from title, after year Ex.: {Bonan, 1997, land use} {Bonan, 1997} (Bonan, 1997)
Correct all above examples for rule (4)   {Midgley, 2004, Photosynthetic}
{Yiou, 2004, Extreme climatic;Mastrandrea, 2004, dangerous}

(5) Preceeding extra text Ex.: {e.g. \Fischlin, 1997, Assessing impacts} (e.g. {Fischlin, 1997, Assessing impacts} (e.g. Fischlin & Gyalistras, 1997)
(6) Trailing extra text Ex.: {Fischlin, 1997, Assessing impacts, p. 32} {Fischlin, 1997, p.32} (Fischlin & Gyalistras, 1997, p.32)
(7) Omit author, since you use it as a subject in the sentence Ex.: Leemans {, 2002, uncertainties in land use} has found Leemans {Leemans, 2002, uncertainties in land use} has found Leemans (2002) has found
(8) To use ";" or "," in a
citation precede it with a
back apostrophe ("`")

Note: The back apostrophe technique does not function in all EndNote Versions (program bug)
Ex.: {Leemans, 2002, uncertainties in land use`; see also Fig. 1} {Leemans, 2002, uncertainties in land use; see also Fig. 1} (Leemans, 2002; see also Fig. 1)

Basic Rule: Enter by import or typing the cited reference into the accompanying EndNote library file that comes with the Word document you are writing.

Note, your file 'Ch4-PAll-Refs_v0.xy.enl' should contain all references used in above examples.

You find more on writing temporary citations in the EndNote manual. For example in EndNote 9 manual from p. 263ff. «Typing Citations into Your Paper» and a summary on p. 270 «Examples of Modified Citations».
